‘A Brush with Nature’, an Exhibition by Helen Martin
Clare Arts Office, in conjunction with Cultúrlann Sweeney Library Gallery, Kilkee will be hosting ‘A Brush with Nature,’ an art exhibition by Helen Martin, from October 14 to November 14.
Helen Martin is a visual artist based in County Clare. After graduating from LCAD she taught art for 35 years in the Irish education system. Upon retiring in 2011, Helen concentrated on her love of painting.
Oil on canvas is her preferred medium and her representational pieces depict her love of nature and her natural surroundings. This is evident in the vibrancy portrayed in her paintings of landscape, sea, flora and fauna. Helen’s use of brush and pallet knife encourages the viewer to be tactile with her pieces. Helen has had several exhibitions in her native county.
She has also exhibited with Artists Eye on Galway. She has been published in Irish magazines and her work has been sold locally nationally and internationally. Most recently Helen has had a solo exhibition at the Hunt Museum Café in Limerick City.
